'Ascension' is the first release for Cult Architect, output which marks a new path for previously impressive material under the guise of R. Lyle, as they build on a live set-up and explore soundscapes and electronic Worlds, all the while exposing hypnotic beats and dance music.

A 'Future Bubblers' (Brownswood Recordings) alumni, Cult Architect is the evolving project of Sheffield-based DJ and producer, R. Lyle. Drawing on influences from vast array of genres encompassing dubstep, techno, cinema and post-rock; their work has seen the support from dance floor heavy weights Throwing Snow, Bonobo and Gilles Peterson.

The project has grown out from a contribution to the "Fabric Presents: Bonobo" compilation; now nurturing a heavy juxtaposition of electronic styles. The new direction pushes a dark, bass-driven and cinematic style; capturing an "other worldly" quality in atmospheric detail. An enigmatic and elusive artist, Cult Architect offers live performances of forthcoming unreleased music.
